Hello! I am Melanie. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend, and a person living with cancer. Welcome to my blog: Between the Scans. When I started this blog, I was subject to quarterly scans. I am thrilled to say that for the last several years, I have been on an annual schedule and continue to show no evidence of disease. However, I will not forget from what I have been spared, and will continue to cherish each day! Save for the first few posts, my blog has very little to do with cancer. Rather, it is about life: the beautiful, fun, hard, mundane days.
More about me.
From the Blog:
All Roads Lead Home
Days and years and then decades pass in the blink of an eye. I can remember it like yesterday. Those 110 young kids from a magical small Texas town scattered. Some of us could not wait to escape, to be free from the place where everyone knew everyone and there were no secrets. For good and bad, we were known. Some had no choice but to stay; others stayed because they had not figured out the next step. And others could not have imagined leaving. Regardless, our classmates scattered like dust in the West Texas wind as our school days ended.
